Tehidy Woods

Tehidy Woods

  • Beautiful, huge trees
  • Lakes
  • Woodland walks
  • Car parks

Tehidy woods near Camborne in West Cornwall are part of Tehidy Country Park, a beautiful country park of around 250 acres, including around 9 miles of nature trails. It was formerly the estate of the Bassett family who made a fortune from tin.

In the 1730s Tehidy House was built with parks and gardens. These are now known as Tehidy Woods. The main house was then used as a hospital in 1918 and has now been turned into exclusive residential apartments.

The woods are now owned by the local council and can be accessed from a variety of car parks. Woodland trails, horse and bike trails, a sensory trail for visually impaired help all visitors to explore the wealth of wildlife and the wilder woodland. Whatever the season the woods are always beautiful, with plenty of wild flowers appearing in the spring and many unusual growing fungi and mushrooms. Take your camera and capture some stunning woodland scenery...
