Lansallos Cove

Lansallos Cove

  • Park in Lansallos village
  • Peaceful little beach
  • Fanastic views from the coastal path
  • Not suitable for wheelchairs or prams

The south east coast of Cornwall has many tucked away little coves and inlets, that could have played a key role in the history of smuggling in the area. One of these is Lansallos Cove, which is tucked away and reached only be a single, steep track.

Lansallos Cove is a small sand and shingle beach in Lanlivet Bay a few miles east of Pencarrow Head. This tiny cove in Lanlivet Bay is reached by a footpath from Lansallos village, where there is parking by the church. The waterfall tumbling to the left of the cove is known as the Reed Water and is the site of an old water mill.

The beach is not well known so it doesn´t get too crowded and is usually used as a resting place for those doing the coastal path walk between Polperro and Polruan. The steep path down to the beach makes it difficult for wheelchairs or prams, but is excellent for those seeking peace and quiet and at times solitude on a lovely peaceful little beach in Cornwall.

Please note dogs are only allowed on the beach between October and Easter
