Fistral Beach is a major surfing beach of the United Kingdom, located at Newquay, in Cornwall. The beach is particularly straight and is about 2500 feet (750 metres) in length. It is mainly sandy and faces North-West towards the Atlantic Ocean. It is also backed by steep sand dunes.

During the summer period it can get extremely crowded, both on the beach and in the sea, especially at high tide when most of the sand is covered by water. It is popular with surfers for its high exposure to swells, ensuring consistent waves. Waves at Fistral can, at times, be of very high quality.

Fistral Beach´s new International Surf Centre hosts some fabulous shops and restaurants. The Fistral Blu restaurant is situated on the first floor with panoramic views across the beach and sea. It offers excellent value lunches and dinners with gourmet fish and local produce dishes set in a stunning surrounding.

There is a large, busy Beach Cafe on the ground floor and ice cream kiosk.

The EuroBeach Surf Hire Shop offers everything for beach fun from wetsuits to boogie boards and rash vests to sun loungers.

Fistral is the home base for the British Surfing Association BSA who offer surf lessons for every level of experience.

A Surf complex would not be complete without cool gear to buy. Shops include Fat Face, Pro Surf and AirJam offering the latest cool beach wear. The Beach Shop, Double Bubble and Aquarius with must have sea and shell decorations plus a wide range of gifts and presents.

In addition to the fun in the water; the swimming, surfing, boogie boarding, rock pool exploration, bass fishing, beach walking and just generally chilling out (!) there is also lots to do in and around Newquay. At its best Newquay can be a fun, lively resort; ideal for younger visitors who are attracted by the Surf lifestyle....

Fistral Beach is short walk from the centre of Newquay. Tennis courts, Waterworld, Newquay Zoo and the SeaLife Centre are all within easy walking distance.
