Cadgwith Cove

Cadgwith Cove

  • Beautiful unspoilt fishing village
  • Excellent Inn for food
  • Beautiful walks
  • Boat trips

Cadgwith Cove is a small fishing village that time forgot located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Parking is just outside the village and an easy picturesque little path takes you through to the harbour passing behind some of the pretty cottages along the way.

There are many small fishing boats here and if you are lucky you will be able to watch one come in and be hauled up onto the beach and unload its catch. Painted boats, fishing nets and buoys litter this small shingly beach and you get a real feel for coastal living here.

A wander around the village will lead you to find the Cadgwith Cove Inn which is definitely a place to stop for lunch – fresh fish and shellfish are served from the days catch and the food is excellent.

From the harbour boat trips are available to take you out to see the Devil´s Frying Pan, Church Cove and Lizard Lifeboat Station. If desired you can watch Nigel, the boat owner haul a lobster pot or two. The Devil´s Frying Pan is a 200 foot deep hole in the cliffs formed many years ago when a cave collapsed. There is some good diving to be had in this area with several well known ship wrecks located nearby.
